CMS Partners with South32 To Create Future Leaders

  • Combined Mining Services has partnered with South32 to support three of our Aboriginal employees to complete their Certificate IV in Underground Coal Mining. We are currently supporting these employees to attend course tutorials at Coal Mine Services and facilitating practical experience required in an underground mine. Upon successful completion of this course and their Deputy Certificate of Competency, they will all be Underground Coal Mine Statutory Officials.

CMS Attends South32 Connect

  • South32 hosted their annual South32 Connect event at the North Beach City Function Centre. This event brought together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, Employment Agencies, Community members, South32 employees and BlueScope to create opportunities to grow Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and employment in the Illawarra.

    Our Director, Tim Atherton joined a panel of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to discuss the barriers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses face and the significant contribution they make to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in areas of employment, education, cultural awareness, health services and sponsorships. For every $1 of revenue, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses generate $4.41 of social revenue (Sleeping Giants Report, Supply Nation).

Men’s Physical and Mental Health Luncheon

  • Combined Mining Services attended the Men’s Physical and Mental Health Luncheon at the Sage Hotel Wollongong, hosted by ARHG Foundation.

    The Luncheon was to promote excellence in men’s physical and mental health, for men to learn about their health, and make positive changes in their lives. Tim Atherton, Director of TCG and Australian Baseball Captain was a Guest Speaker along with a number of Sports Stars, Celebrities and Health Experts.

Employee Financial Advice Workshop

  • We are committed to the well-being and future success of our valued employees. We believe that personal financial planning plays a crucial role in shaping a secure and fulfilling life, and as a trusted employer, we are dedicated to providing our employees with the tools and resources to achieve financial well-being. That is why we partnered with Finance Control, a highly reputable and long-established local firm that shares our core values and commitment to helping individuals and families make better decisions with their money.

    We held three seminars across July and August that covered a wide range of important topics and provided invaluable insights and strategies for our employees to secure their financial futures.

    Following the session in Mudgee, the team enjoyed a meal at The Little Cooking School, owned by one of our employees and his wife.
